Sample № 01 — leaky P-trap
A kitchen-sink leak, walked end to end.
A worked example. Copy the prompt, paste it into the AI tool you use, and follow what it asks back.
What the AI will produce
- An intake checklist (photo, brand, age, recent work, location of drip).
- Likely sources of the leak, ranked.
- Step-by-step safe checks — tightening slip nuts by hand, inspecting washers.
- Stop conditions — water near outlets, swelling cabinet floor, mold suspicion.
- A plumber-ready summary to text or call with.
Example interaction
Turn 1 — Intake
The AI asks: photo? brand? age? When did the drip start? Constant or only when the disposal runs? Anything recent? You answer with what you know.
Turn 2 — Triage
The AI restates symptoms, separates “water at the slip nut” from “water at the threaded joint at the wall” — different problems. It flags that if the drip only happens when the disposal runs, the disposal connection is suspect.
Turn 3 — Safe checks
Put a dry paper towel under each joint. Run water. Identify exactly which joint is wet. Hand-tighten the slip nut a quarter turn (no wrench). Re-test.
Turn 4 — Decision
If hand-tightening stopped it, you’re done — document the date and which joint. If it kept dripping, or the joint is at the wall, or you see swelling cabinet wood, the AI builds the plumber-ready summary.
